Assam NEET Counselling 2021: The Counselling process for the state of Assam will be organized by the Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Assam. The Counselling will occur for the 85% state quota seats of the state. The authority is going to conduct state quota counselling for Admission into various medical courses including MBBS/BDS courses.

There will be no more Combined Entrance Examination at the state level for MBBS/BDS courses. So, all 85% of Govt. and Private MBBS/BDS seats will be filled through NEET state quota counselling.

Assam NEET UG Counselling 2021 Eligibility

To be a part of the DME Assam MBBS counselling, students should clear NEET 2021 exam. A merit list will be made by the DME, Assam which will have the names of the selected candidates based on their NEET 2021 scores. Only students with their names on the list will be eligible for the counselling process.

Assam MBBS 2021 counselling -Step wise procedure

Listing of Eligible Candidates- Firstly, the authority will prepare the list of all the students who want to participate in the state counselling process. The list will be made according to the option filled by the students during the filling up of the NEET Application. The list will be published on the official website of the counselling authority.

Registration for Counselling- All the students who appear for the NEET Exam and get their name on the list, will have to register on the official website of the DME, which is the counselling authority for the state. Applicants will register with a payment of a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 500/-.

Publishing of  Merit List- Based on all the received applications, the authority will publish a merit list according to the Colleges and the caste category reservation. NEET UG Ranks will also play a major role in the generated list.

Counselling Process- Next, in the counselling process, the candidates will be given a college as per their rank and college/ course choices. The process of counselling will be done in two or three rounds to fill up all the seats.

Reporting- All the candidates who are allotted a college need to the DME. The authority will also mention the venue of the reporting. Make sure to carry all the original document along with their hard copy. Students will also have to report to the college on a specific day and time, along with all the documents required for admission. In case, the candidate does not report on the given date and time stipulated, the seat allotted to the candidate will pass on to the other candidates.
