BAMS Admission Process

Admission to BAMS courses will be taken on the basis of NEET UG score and the corresponding rank. therefore , candidates are required to qualify NEET conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). In order to take admission to BAMS course, candidates are required to secure NEET cutoff 2020 percentile. Candidates can check the category-wise minimum required percentile in the table below.

 The admission to BAMS will be taken through AYUSH counselling and then state-wise counselling procedure. For BAMS admission process each state will release its own state merit rank based on the NEET merit list for which the candidates will be required to fill application form.

Difference between BAMS Vs MBBS

BAMS may not be considered as sought-after as an MBBS course, but there are many details that make it worth pursuing. Getting into BAMS course is not that difficult when compared with MBBS. Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course is relatively tough and has limited number of seat in proportion to the number of candidates that apply for admission. It is relatively easy to get in a seat in government college to pursue BAMS course and it is cheaper than MBBS. In BAMS course, candidates are required to study modern medical sciences and modern diagnostics along with Ayurvedic Samhitas. Whereas in MBBS candidates do not wander off from the domain of advanced medicine and new technology associated with it. After completing BAMS, candidates can go for clinical research or can take up a course of alternative medicine just like a MBBS graduate. BAMS graduate also have the option of pursuing MD and MS in Ayurveda but do not have as many option as an MBBS graduate has.
