CLAT 2020: Application Form, Exam Date, Eligibility, Syllabus,Result..

CLAT 2020 The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam for admissions to candidates in undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law courses offered at NLUs and other colleges/ universities accepting exam scores.It is conducted on a rotation basis by 19 national law universities (NLUs) of India.

Through CLAT 2020, appearing candidate can get admission in various universities in all over India. CLAT 2020 Application Form is starting from 1st January 2020.

CLAT 2020 Exam Key Dates

As per the official notification, the CLAT 2020 exam will be held on – 10th of May, 2020. Check tentative CLAT 2020 exam date .

CLAT 2020 Exam Pattern

For the preparation of the examination, the candidate should know about the Exam Pattern. Information regarding the CLAT 2020 Exam Pattern is given below.

  • Duration: 2 Hours
  • Maximum Marks: 200
  • Type of Questions: MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions)
  • Mode of Examination: Online
  • Marking Scheme: +1 for each correct answer and -0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2020

The eligibility criteria for CLAT 2020 for admission in UG and PG program are given below.

Undergraduate Program (Five Year Integrated LLB (Hons) Course)

  • Candidates should be Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of (i) Forty Five percent (45%) marks in case of candidates belonging to Unreserved/OBC/Specially  Abled Persons (SAP)/NRI/NRI sponsored categories and (ii) Forty percent (40%) marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April 2020 are also eligible to apply.

Age Limit

  • Candidates should be below Twenty (20) years of age in case of Unreserved/NRI/NRI sponsored categories and below twenty-two (22) years in case of SC/ST /OBC/SAP categories as on 01st July 2020.

CLAT 2020 Application Process

Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate law courses offered by the participating NLUs need to fill the application form of CLAT 2020, which will open in online mode sometime in the second week of January. The last date to fill the application form of CLAT will be tentatively 4th week of May. The steps to fill CLAT 2020 application form is given below-

CLAT 2020 Admit Card

CLAT 2020 Admit Card will release in the month of May 2020. Candidate needs to check the mentioned details in the admit card first if any incorrect details are mentioned in the admit card then that candidate should immediately contact to the releasing authority of the CLAT 2020.

CLAT 2020 Result

CLAT 2020 result is expected to be released in May, 2020. The first merit list of selected candidates is expected to be released by last week of May, 2020.

CLAT results can be accessed by individually logging in to the registered account on the official CLAT website. In the result, the candidate will be able to check their score, All India Rank and category rank (if published).

CLAT Admission Process 2020

The admission process to UG and PG programs in participating universities under CLAT-2020 is completed through centralised online counselling conducted by the CLAT Consortium Office. The admission process for CLAT 2020 starts with filling of application form and then qualifying in the national-level exam. At the time of filling up the form, the candidate has to fill, in order of preference, the choice of NLUs. The seat allotment of CLAT 2020 will be done on the basis of merit-cum-preference.
