To apply for admission to Pondicherry MBBS 2021 students will have to submit the online application form. Pondicherry MBBS admission 2021 will be conducted on the basis of marks in NEET exam 2021, state merit rank, number of seats, and reservation criteria. Pondicherry MBBS Admission 2021 Eligibility

• Candidates must have passed the H.Sc. (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent exam.
• Aspirants have to qualify for the aforementioned exam with a minimum of 50% marks (40% of marks for OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/SC/ST candidates) in aggregate, in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology, Botany, and Zoology. They must have passed each subject individually also.
• Aspirants should also have studied English as one of the subjects.
• The applicant must be an Indian national.
• Non-Resident Indian (NRI) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) / Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) are also eligible
• Candidates should be at least 17 years old at the time of admission.
• Aspirants must have qualified NEET UG 2021.

Eligibility criteria for minority quota

1. They must be residents of the UT of Pondicherry and belonging to respective minorities

• For PIMS: Candidates must be from a Christian religious minority category
• For SVMC&RI: Candidates who belong to Telugu linguistic minority are eligible.

1. Candidates should produce any valid documentary proof like Transfer Certificate or similar document to prove their Pondicherry NEET 2021 eligibility under the minority quota.

Eligibility for management quota Admission In Pondicherry 

Candidates who have qualified in NEET 2021 can apply for management seats. There is no restriction like domicile or residence criteria. So, candidates from other states can also apply for the management quota if they wish to.

Pondicherry MBBS Admission 2021: Reservation (CENTAC)

• As per U.T. Govt. norms for all Government quota seats, only Candidates who are resident of the U.T. of Puducherry are eligible.
• Out of the total number of seats available in a particular state, 85% are reserved for the residents of the state.

Minority Quota Seats (Management Quota) in Private Medical Colleges

• Minority quota seats in Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), are reserved for those candidates who are resident of Pondicherry and belonging to Christian religious minority alone are eligible.
• Minority quota seats in Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College & Research Institute (SVMCH & RI) are reserved for those candidates who are resident of Pondicherry and belonging to Telugu linguistic minority alone are eligible.
• U.T. of Pondicherry candidates claiming seats under Christian Minority Quota should produce any valid documentary proof like Transfer Certificate or similar document to prove that his / her religion is CHRISTIANITY.
• U.T. of Pondicherry candidates claiming seats under Telugu Minority Quota should produce any valid documentary proof like Transfer Certificate or School admission certificate to prove that his / her mother tongue is TELUGU.
• Conversion of Minority Quota seats into General Management Quota seats: In case these minority quota seats are not filled in the TWO rounds of Counselling, then these unfilled seats will be converted to general management quota seats and filled on All India basis. In the computerised module of allocation, the unfilled seats will be converted after exhausting the minority candidates and allotted as General Management Quota seats in the second round itself.
• For Management Quota seats in Private Colleges candidates are eligible on All India basis without any restriction to residence in the U.T. of Pondicherry.
