How Senior Able Citizens for Re-Employment in Dignity(SACRED) Will Work .?

Senior persons searching for work will soon have a platform to connect with potential employers, thanks to the Centre’s plans to develop a one-of-a-kind employment exchange.

The ministry of social justice and empowerment (MoSJ&E) is steering the ‘Senior Able Citizens for Re-Employment in Dignity (Sacred)’ portal, which will enable “virtual matching” of employable elders of 60 years and beyond with employers who come forth and register on the platform.

R Subrahmanyam, the secretary of state for social justice and empowerment, said the exchange will be an interactive forum where stakeholders will meet digitally and decide on a course of action. The ministry has also written to the CII, Ficci, Assocham, and other organisations to help increase work options for the elderly.

A senior citizen can register once the site is up and running, providing information about their education, experience, talents, and areas of interest. The task and the number of older persons necessary to perform it will be specified by the job suppliers. It has been suggested that non-profit organisations be enlisted to assist senior folks in applying for these positions. The ministry has stated that participation in the exchange does not guarantee employment.

STEP 3: Then you will be redirected to the SACRED  Sign Up page for Company / Firm /senior Citizen / NGO will open as shown below:-

Search Jobs at SACRED Employment Exchange Portal

After applying online at SACRED Employment Exchange portal, senior citizens seeking work opportunities will be able to bag jobs. Elderly people can apply and even search jobs at SACRED employment exchange portal. To search job, senior citizens can enter job title, search title, city and click at “Search” tab.

SACRED portal will help Indians above 60 years of age to find jobs easily, right at the comfort of their homes. The portal is operated by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJ&E’s). Any job provider – individual, firm, company, partnership, and voluntary organisation can also register on SACRED portal. Job provider will specify the task involved and the number of senior citizens that are required to complete it.

What is SACRED ?

The gateway will allow for numerous job patterns — full-time, part-time, freelance, and pro bono choices – that can work to mutual benefit, according to persons familiar with the situation. They also indicated that retraining and reskilling methods are being considered to bring senior persons up to date, if necessary.

How SACRED Online Job Portal for Senior Citizens Works

In the face of a constant increase in the older population, this portal is considered as the way forward. Senior persons have increased in number from almost 2 crore in 1951 to 7.6 crore in 2001 and roughly 10.4 crore in 2011.

Significantly, the government has started a nationwide toll free helpline 14567 for senior citizens called ‘Elder Line’. On this phone line, senior citizens get support like pension, legal issues, emotional support, help against harassment, help in homelessness etc.
